Lexmark Teacher Institute
Bringing Innovation to Teaching & Relevance to Curriculum
The Lexmark Teacher Institute is an eye-opening and informative professional development opportunity for central Kentucky teachers from Fayette, Jessamine & Scott County public schools. The teachers represent the science, technology, engineering, math, Language Arts, Social Studies and career-tech disciplines. The Institute is a week long program scheduled at the end of July each year.
The intent of the institute is to provide a forum for teachers to directly connect to business expertise to see how what they teach in the classroom is applied in the workplace. After working with business professionals, the teachers then tour several different companies to learn about workforce needs and career opportunities available to our students.

Companies and organizations that worked with teachers in the 2010 LTI include:
Bluegrass Community & Technical College, TMMK Campus
Central Baptist Hospital
Eastside Technical Center
Equus Run Vineyards
Jessamine Career & Technology Center
Kentucky American Water Company
Lexmark International
Sargent & Greenleaf
Southside Technical Center
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky
